This untitled painting was made by Andre Lanskoy, but exactly when is anyone’s guess! What strikes me is how the composition feels both carefully planned and totally spontaneous. Look at how Lanskoy uses colour, especially the blues and oranges, to create this really intense visual experience. The paint application looks almost chalky, with thick layers that give the surface a real tactile quality. I'm drawn to the top left corner where a triangle of red sits; its edges are a bit smudged, giving it a softer, almost ethereal feel that contrasts with the geometric blocks elsewhere. It reminds me of Arthur Dove, who also mixed abstraction with an intuitive response to colour and form. Ultimately, this painting feels like an invitation to let go of fixed ideas and embrace the messy, unpredictable nature of art and life.
