Curator: Look at this engraving, "Twee balkons" by Jean Pelletier, dating back to 1772-1779. The image presents two architectural studies. Editor: My initial impression is a study in contrasts. The line work is so clean, almost clinical, but there's this underlying sense of aspiration. Like blueprints for a life yet to be lived on those balconies. Curator: Absolutely.
