Editor: So, this is a Coin of Philip III of Macedonia from Miletos, and it's part of the Harvard Art Museums collection. It looks really small and timeworn. I wonder, what stories do you think this little coin could tell? Curator: Ah, that’s the magic, isn’t it? I imagine this coin jingling in the pockets of merchants, funding grand armies and quiet romances alike. To me, it echoes with the grand, sweeping story of empires, shrunk down to fit in the palm of your hand. What do you feel when you look at it? Editor: I feel a connection to the past. It's incredible to think of all the hands this passed through. What do you take away from this piece? Curator: It reminds me that even the smallest objects can carry immense weight, both literal and historical. Each one is a miniature portal to another time. Editor: I never thought of it that way. It's given me a new appreciation for ancient artifacts. Curator: Me too. There is something wonderful about tangible history.
