Lala Eve Rivol made this "Petroglyph Design" using what looks like ink on paper, and it's like she’s diving into the deep end of artmaking as a process. The way she’s laid down these marks, it's not about perfection, it's more about the act of creation itself. Looking closely, the texture has this handmade feel, you can see the grain of the paper, and the way the ink sits on the surface. In the central panel the color creates an intriguing tension. The repeated lines behind the ochre form have this wonderful, almost vibrating energy, creating a kind of visual buzz. It reminds me of Cy Twombly but with a graphic twist. I see the conversation of art history, and the way Lala Eve Rivol is in dialogue with her contemporaries, yet speaking in her unique voice. To me this piece is all about embracing ambiguity, about letting the art be a space of questions rather than answers.
