Tony Feher made "Just So" from commonplace materials: glass bottles, water, blue dye, and a simple shelf. Look closely, and you’ll notice that each bottle contains varying amounts of tinted water, creating a spectrum of blue across the row. The bottles themselves are ordinary, probably recycled, and their serial nature speaks to mass production and consumption. Yet, by carefully arranging them, Feher transforms these everyday objects into something visually poetic. The skill here lies not in traditional artistic techniques, but in the act of curation and placement. It invites us to consider how beauty can be found in the mundane, and how subtle manipulations of color and form can create a work that is both simple and profound. It elevates the act of collecting and arranging to the level of art. "Just So" prompts us to rethink what we value and how we perceive the world around us. By embracing modest materials, Feher challenges the conventional hierarchy between high art and the everyday.
