Editor: Here we have "Saint John," an undated print by Hans Collaert the Elder. There's something so striking about the way Saint John seems to float on the clouds. How would you interpret this work? Curator: Well, I find the image quite fascinating! The eagle, of course, is Saint John's symbol. The vibrant colors and the way he’s depicted ascending on clouds—it gives me a sense of spiritual elevation, a visual representation of divine inspiration. Do you get that sense as well? Editor: I do now! The colors really pop. It’s a very powerful image. Curator: Indeed. It’s a piece that invites us to contemplate the nature of faith and artistic expression.
