Editor: Here we have “Ultramarine Red,” manufactured by Grumbacher. It seems to be a jar of pigment next to a painted swatch, and I’m struck by how intensely pink it is! What do you make of it? Curator: It's almost aggressively pink, isn't it? Like a neon sign screaming from a dusty old laboratory. I see the raw potential, the untamed energy locked within that pigment. It makes me wonder, what masterpieces were almost born from this jar? Did it ever get used? Editor: That's a fascinating perspective. I was mostly thinking about color theory, but your point about potential is really interesting! Curator: The best art always leaves you with more questions than answers, wouldn’t you agree?
