This bench with two accompanying cabinets was made by E.G.C. Schubad. I see a wooden base and a velvet seat. It's giving me, like, a chocolate vibe? Earthy, simple, with maybe a hint of formality in the lines. I’m wondering what the making of this felt like. Maybe Schubad labored over the details, wanting everything just so. Or maybe they just kind of let it flow, figuring it out as they went. It’s like that feeling when you’re trying to get comfortable, you know? You shift around, adjust the pillows, trying to find that sweet spot where everything just clicks. I bet a lot of people have sat here and made themselves comfy. When I look at this bench, I think about all the other artists who have come before, passing on ideas through form and function. There’s something beautiful about being part of that conversation, about adding your voice to the mix. It’s a connection that transcends time, a reminder that we’re all in this together, figuring it out as we go.
