Editor: Here we have an untitled watercolor by Peter Soriano, housed at the Harvard Art Museums. It’s a series of pinkish-red organic shapes, soft and almost floral. What do you see in this piece? Curator: It feels like a memory, doesn't it? A blush rising on paper. Soriano's use of watercolor gives it this ephemeral quality, like a fleeting emotion. Is it a dance, a figure, or simply the joy of pigment meeting water? It invites contemplation, wouldn't you agree? Editor: Definitely! The lack of a title adds to that ambiguity. It could be anything, or nothing at all. Curator: Precisely. And that's the beauty of it. It allows us to project our own interpretations, our own feelings, onto its gentle form. I wonder what Soriano had in mind. Editor: I love that it’s open to so many interpretations. Thanks for sharing your insights. Curator: My pleasure. It’s always rewarding to find new perspectives in art.
