Editor: So, this is William Henry Jackson’s photograph, "Administration Building, from Agricultural Building, World's Columbian Exposition." It’s… well, grandiose! All those domes and columns. What strikes you about it? Curator: It’s a vision of aspiration, isn't it? A collective dream rendered in white neoclassical architecture. For me, it whispers of a young nation flexing its industrial muscle and wanting to embody ideals of enlightenment. It is almost as if Jackson captured the spirit of a phoenix rising. What do you think? Editor: Phoenix rising is a nice way to put it! I hadn't thought about the national aspirations, just the architecture. Thanks! Curator: My pleasure!
