Dragan Ilić Di Vogo made "Albedo" with layers upon layers of paint, building up the surface with careful precision, but also with a kind of dreamy abandon. I can imagine him working on this, maybe even struggling with it, letting the image emerge slowly, bit by bit. The face, so delicately rendered, peeks out from a riot of colors and abstract shapes – almost as if the artist were uncovering her, rather than creating her from scratch. It feels like a dance between control and chance. The paint is applied in these thin glazes, creating a luminous effect, like looking through water. You know, there's something about the way he blends the real with the surreal that reminds me of Odilon Redon, but with a contemporary twist. It’s all part of this ongoing conversation that artists have, inspiring each other across time. Di Vogo embraces ambiguity, doesn't he? Allowing for multiple interpretations and meanings to emerge.
