This is Victor Vasarely’s Tsikos C, and it’s all about how he makes you see. It looks like a couple of zebras, but they also look like they are being pulled apart, like they are being stretched in some sort of digital editing program. There's this really interesting thing that happens with the black and white stripes. The black kind of recedes, while the white feels like it's popping out at you, right? It's like the white is advancing and the black is hiding. I think what Vasarely is doing here is messing with our sense of depth and space. Look at how the stripes curve and bend. It's like he's playing with the surface of the painting, making it feel like it's breathing or moving, maybe a bit like Bridget Riley. And that's the fun part, isn't it? How it makes you move and question what you see. I guess art's about playing these kinds of tricks, or is it?
