Panayiotis Tetsis made this painting, Street Market, using oil paint, and the way he puts it down is pretty direct and physical, you know? It’s like the painting is built from the ground up. What grabs me is the light. How it bounces and shifts. Look at the way Tetsis layers those oranges, yellows, and reds. It’s a dance of warm colors that makes the whole painting vibrate, but it's not blended perfectly. You can really see the marks, the brushstrokes, which I love. There’s a figure there, leaning against what might be a truck. One arm is outstretched, like he’s presenting the market, or maybe he’s just taking a break. That gesture, with its casual confidence, makes me think of Bonnard. Both artists aren’t afraid to let the paint breathe and capture a fleeting moment. Art's just one big conversation, right?
