This is Gunter Fruhtrunk's "Étude No. 3 - Champs dynamique", and with its sharp lines, it's like a visual punch to the gut. I’m drawn to the way Fruhtrunk plays with geometry, the orange and blue bars creating a rhythm that’s both ordered and disrupted. Look at how the diagonals slice through the composition, adding a layer of visual noise. It's like a glitch in the matrix, right? The surface is so flat, so precise. You can almost feel the crisp edges of those painted lines. There’s a real physicality to the way these colors butt up against each other, creating a tension. And while it's tempting to see a system at play, there's also a sense of playful improvisation here. Fruhtrunk reminds me a bit of Bridget Riley, but with a harder edge. They both make you question what you see, but through very different vocabularies.
