Oleg Holosiy’s *Sunset* is a 200 x 200 cm painting that gets right to the point. It's all about big blocks of color and feeling the shift from light to dark. Holosiy isn't messing around with details; he’s going straight for the emotional gut-punch of a sunset. Look at how the layers of red and black seem to push against each other, creating this vibrating energy. The paint isn't fussy, it's laid on thick, giving the whole scene a heavy, almost dreamlike quality. And that little sliver of yellow, the sun, feels almost defiant against the encroaching darkness. It’s like Holosiy is reminding us that even in the face of the inevitable, there's still a spark of light. Holosiy reminds me a little bit of late Philip Guston, where figuration began to push through abstraction. These are paintings that don’t sit still, they keep moving, changing, asking questions, and never giving you a straight answer.
