Editor: So, here we have George Richmond's portrait of Sir George James Turner. It’s a drawing, and it feels so…contained, almost fragile. What do you see in this piece? Curator: I think you’ve hit on something. Look at how Richmond captures that intense focus in Turner’s eyes, almost as if he's eternally contemplating some legal matter. He’s literally drawn to a standstill by his work. The wispy lines create this air of intellectual energy, but also, perhaps, the weight of responsibility. Editor: That makes a lot of sense! It's more dynamic than I initially thought. Curator: It's like the weight of the law is etched into his very being. Editor: I see it now. Thanks! Curator: My pleasure. It's always interesting how portraits can reflect a life lived, isn't it?
