Editor: This untitled piece by John Walker features swirling blues and grays. The central form reminds me of a figure, but obscured. What do you see in this piece? Curator: The swirling motifs evoke labyrinths, referencing ancient myths and the complexities of the human psyche. The central figure, fragmented and layered, could represent the fractured self or the search for identity. Does it resonate with you as both a barrier and a gateway? Editor: That’s interesting! I hadn’t considered the fragmented self. It felt more like a distorted reflection, but the labyrinth idea really clicks. Thanks! Curator: Consider how the colours might influence this interpretation, and what other symbols it calls to mind.
