Lojze Logar's 'Figures KC' presents us with abstracted forms that hint at figuration, rendered in a striking palette of blues and purples. The dominant motif, a cloud-like shape, is reminiscent of the psyche's elusive nature. Consider how similar shapes recur throughout art history, from classical depictions of divine presence to Romantic evocations of the sublime. Here, the cloud morphs. What was once a symbol of heavenly power becomes something more ambiguous, reflective of internal states rather than external forces. Note the recurring circle, a potent symbol across cultures. Is it the all-seeing eye, or merely a formal element in a game of colour and form? Such juxtapositions speak to our collective visual memory. They tap into subconscious associations, creating a deep, emotional resonance. It is this continual return and reinvention that keeps the image alive.
