Curator: Here we have a waste bowl, manufactured by the Höchst Porcelain Manufactory. Editor: It’s so delicate, like a whisper. Those floral motifs almost seem to float on the surface. Curator: Höchst, active in the 18th century, navigated a market increasingly shaped by the burgeoning culture of tea and coffee consumption and, of course, waste. Editor: A beautiful container for dregs! I love the unexpected juxtaposition. It transforms something mundane into something quite lovely. The artist elevates the ritual. Curator: Indeed. Höchst secured its place by catering to aristocratic tastes and the rituals of courtly life. It's intriguing how porcelain became intertwined with status. Editor: Porcelain seems eternal, yet these pieces have survived so many fleeting social trends. A lovely reminder about appreciating the everyday, even the discarded.
