Editor: So, this is "Morning" by William Rimmer. It's a sketch, really, and the figures are all in red chalk. It feels delicate, almost like a dream. What do you see in this piece? Curator: A dance of classical echoes, wouldn't you say? Rimmer, ever the romantic, seems to be channeling a neo-classical spirit. The figures, caught in their repose, hint at stories untold. What is the relationship? Mother and child? Are we privy to an intimate moment, a stolen glance? Editor: It's interesting that you say "stories untold" because I'm not sure there's a narrative. Curator: Perhaps the story lies not in the act itself, but in the feeling it evokes. The yearning for a past that might never have been. It almost feels like he is conjuring a memory. Editor: That's beautiful, the idea of conjuring a memory. It's certainly given me a new way to look at it. Curator: Agreed. Art is just a way for us to explore our own mind and world.
