The family seems almost like a performance, set against the backdrop of their simple existence. The man gestures, maybe narrating their story? Curator: Perhaps Witthöft is reflecting on the role of the artist, observing and interpreting the lives of others. A pilgrimage into their world? Editor: Maybe, but those turkeys in the foreground feel a bit too convenient. Like, "Look how quaint!" Curator: Perhaps.
