This electric print, *Growing #2*, comes to us from Keith Haring. It’s a dance of bold color and graphic lines, like he's zapped figures into life right before your eyes. I can just imagine him in his studio, maybe blasting some music, getting lost in the act of creation. Haring's use of line here is so confident, so sure, that it becomes a language all its own. Look at how he uses that blue outline to make the black shapes pop, to make them vibrate with energy. And those little speed lines give a sense of motion. I love that the figures seem to be supporting each other, like a team or a family unit. Haring’s work is always in conversation with the world around him, reflecting the energy of New York City, the club scene, and the vibrant street culture that he was so deeply embedded in. He reminds me that art doesn’t exist in a vacuum, but it's part of a larger, ongoing dialogue.
