Harry Sternberg made this print called Brotherhood of Man, and the thing that grabs me first is the colour. It's like the whole image is dipped in this green-blue ink. The figures, suited up in what looks like gas masks, feel both alien and intensely human, caught in a moment of tension. Sternberg isn't afraid to let the process show. You can see the marks, the grain. It's about the making, not just the image. The texture isn't smooth. The marks are visible and direct. It makes me think about how we're all connected, like these figures, but also how fragile that connection can be. It reminds me a bit of some of the German Expressionist prints, that same sense of unease and urgency. Art isn't about answers, it's about the conversation.
