Consider the streetlights, those beacons of the modern age. Light has long been a potent symbol, piercing through the darkness, representing enlightenment and knowledge. Think back to religious art where divine figures are bathed in light, radiating truth. Here, however, the light is not divine but technological, yet it carries a similar promise of progress and clarity. This notion of progress, though, is not linear.
