This print, *Untitled I*, was made by Esteban Vicente with lithography. Look at how the colors—red, gray, and black—are layered, almost like cut-outs pasted together. It's a process-oriented way of working, where each mark builds on the last. I love the rawness of this piece. The textures are immediate; you can almost feel the grain of the lithographic stone. Vicente isn't trying to hide the process. See the way the black ink is scratched and smudged at the upper right? It's like he's wrestling with the material, letting the ink have its say. That single dab of red within the black area has a real emotional punch too. It's this tiny interruption that highlights the interplay between these simple forms. Vicente reminds me a bit of Franz Kline, using bold gestures to create a sense of dynamic space. It's not about perfection, it's about the energy of the moment, and how we experience the world.
