Editor: This is "Klönthal" by Salomon Gessner. It's a landscape piece, black and white, and it feels very grand and serene. What story do you think it's trying to tell, or what feelings does it evoke for you? Curator: Ah, Gessner! He captures a wild beauty, doesn't he? It whispers of the sublime, that feeling of awe mixed with a touch of fear. Notice how the light etches every crevice of the mountains, dwarfing the figures on the path. It makes me wonder, what does nature awaken in us? Editor: I hadn't noticed the figures until you pointed them out! Seeing them makes the landscape feel even bigger. Curator: Exactly! Art opens our eyes, doesn't it? I learned to see the world anew each time.
