This drawing of an 18th-century gallery, Gallery 52, was made with ink and watercolor by Eggers and Higgins. What I see is a very ordered space; the symmetry is satisfying. I try to imagine what the artist was thinking when making it. There is something so different about architecture and painting! Eggers and Higgins have to think about so many more logistical things than painters do. But I am sure they bring their personal creativity to the project. The sepia wash that surrounds the image is a nice touch. This is a very delicate drawing. It is so different from paintings that use thick paint, and the overall effect is one of serene formality.
