Editor: Here we have a bronze coin of Constantine I. It’s small, a bit rough around the edges, but surprisingly detailed for its size. The patinated surface whispers stories of centuries past. How would you interpret a piece like this? Curator: This little coin…it's a tangible link to a world remade by Constantine! It's a whisper of imperial power, a pocket-sized propaganda piece, really. The figure on the reverse might be a depiction of Pax, or peace, which would have been a very popular message at the time. What do you think this object, once passed from hand to hand, tells us about the Roman Empire? Editor: It's wild to think that this tiny thing was once used in everyday life, and carried the weight of an empire's message. Thanks, that’s an interesting perspective. Curator: My pleasure, it’s always fascinating to see how such small objects can hold such a wealth of meaning.
