This is the second volume of "Album met honderd vogels door Bairei," created by Kōno Bairei, an artist born in Kyoto during a time of significant cultural shift as Japan opened to the West. Bairei, trained in traditional Japanese and Chinese painting techniques, navigates themes of nature and beauty which are deeply rooted in Japanese aesthetics.
