Eckart Hahn made this striking painting, Twins, with a strong, graphic punch. The painting is really sharp, maybe with acrylics, and feels like a screen print almost. It's all about the contrast between that flat yellow background and the super-detailed bison. I love how the texture of the bison’s fur is built up with these tiny, meticulous strokes. You can almost feel the weight of its body. And then there’s that rope, hanging there so deliberately. It makes you think about control, or maybe even a kind of trap. It's funny how the rope matches the yellow background, so the bison is caught in its own space. Hahn’s got this cool, almost surreal vibe going on, a bit like James Ensor but with animals instead of people, that pushes you to look beyond the surface.
