Editor: Here we have Hermann Eckner’s piece, "Color-Light Play" from the Harvard Art Museums. The interplay of shapes feels both retro and futuristic. How do you interpret this piece? Curator: It’s interesting, isn’t it? I see a pixelated dance of light and shadow. There's a certain boldness to its simplicity, a raw experimentation. Perhaps it is a meditation on how light can be broken down into its most basic components, almost like code. What do you make of that? Editor: That’s a great point! I didn’t see it that way at first, but the pixel comparison does help me understand the piece. Curator: Glad to help! It really is a fascinating piece.
