Antoine de Marcenay de Ghuy etched this river landscape with a castle and travelers. It reflects the 18th century's fascination with idealized nature. Notice the travelers on the path. The image of travelers has been with us since the beginning of time. Wandering figures dot medieval tapestries, Renaissance paintings, and even modern cinema. These figures embody our subconscious yearnings for exploration and transformation. The traveler, laden with baggage, mirrors the human psyche, weighed down by memories and experiences. The path they tread can be likened to the journey through life. The birds, which were believed to be messengers between the earthly and the divine, carry an intense emotional and psychological weight, and resurface and evolve, taking on new meanings in different historical contexts.
