This Untitled piece by Kinder Album is made with paint and marker. It’s so refreshing to see an artist embrace this medium in an intuitive and process-oriented way. What strikes me is the physicality of the marks and the bold, imaginative palette. The paint is applied in layers, but it's not about hiding the process; each stroke feels deliberate yet free, like a dance across the surface. The blue figure lying down dominates, but what I find especially compelling is the juxtaposition with the garden gnome, standing there with a chainsaw, like a kid with a new toy. It’s a small detail, but it disrupts the tranquility of the scene, adding a layer of dark humor. This piece reminds me a little of Red Grooms, who creates his own worlds. Both artists use a playful approach, to depict reality but through the lens of humor. Album isn’t afraid to embrace ambiguity, inviting us to bring our own interpretations to the table, reminding us that art is an ongoing conversation, not a monologue.
