This is Camilla d'Errico's 'Double Dynamic', and it seems to me to be made of painted metal sometime in the 20th century. Look how she's arranged these triangular forms, like building blocks scattered by some giant kid, with the simple act of arranging them giving them such a sense of motion. These shapes are clean and bright, the colors reminiscent of a Mondrian painting. There's a visual tension between the starkness of the metal and the playful composition. The way they stand against the brick building really makes you notice that yellow, red, blue and white. They're not messing around, these colors. It reminds me a little of some of the sculptures by Sol LeWitt, with their emphasis on geometric forms and seriality. But d'Errico brings her own distinct sensibility to the table. This piece is a great example of how art can surprise us and make us see the world in new ways.
