Curator: Here at the Harvard Art Museums, we have an intriguing piece called "Letter D," created by an anonymous artist. Editor: It's so small, almost like a hidden treasure. The creature inside the D, does it feel a little trapped to you? Curator: The form itself is quite interesting, the black ink creating these firm lines, and the figure within, is an almost grotesque human form. The black ink contrasts against the negative space, emphasizing its shape. Editor: It does, there's a story in that tension, don't you think? Like something’s struggling to emerge. Or be free from its own framework. Curator: Perhaps. The artist has left so much open to interpretation. Editor: Makes you wonder, doesn't it, what stories this little letter might have started? Curator: Exactly, what word began with this, or what world.
