Landschaft mit fünf nackten Frauen 

Ludwig von Hofmann created this pastel drawing, *Landscape with Five Nude Women,* sometime in the late 19th or early 20th century. The composition immediately strikes us with its interplay of light and shadow, the figures emerging from a darkly sketched copse of trees, offset against a pale, yellow sky. Hofmann's use of pastel lends a soft, almost dreamlike quality to the scene.
