This pendant necklace was crafted by Firma van den Eersten & Hofmeijer. Consider the significance of jewelry during periods of social change. In times when personal expression is either suppressed or celebrated, accessories like this become powerful symbols of identity. The warm amber tone of the pendant invokes the earth, suggesting a connection to nature and perhaps to the body itself. Imagine this piece adorning someone during a time of cultural transformation. It could be seen as an assertion of individuality, a subtle act of defiance against uniformity, or a celebration of personal history. The geometric designs, while modern, carry echoes of ancient motifs, linking the wearer to a lineage of artistry and meaning. As you observe the necklace, consider how personal adornments reflect our innermost selves and our place in the world.

Van den Eersten & Hofmeijer devised variations modelled on French jewellery. The form and decoration of this pendant, for instance, is in keeping with the Art Deco style, which combined exotic and modern elements. The gold setting has Chinese-like ornamentation. The stone is geometric in form. The colour of the rose gold complements the glowing amber.
