Ion Alin Gheorghiu's 'Composition' is made up of a symphony of greens, blues, browns and whites. I am immediately transported to a garden! Imagine Gheorghiu stepping back from the canvas, brush in hand, head tilted to one side, considering the dance of shapes and hues. Was he trying to create a sense of depth? There's a layering that suggests a world unfolding, one color informing the next. Look at how the thick brushstrokes of white create forms which float amidst the background. There's an energy and freedom in the way he has applied the paint, as though he’s trying to capture a feeling more than a literal representation. It's about the act of seeing, the joy of color, and the ongoing dialogue between the artist and the canvas. This piece speaks to me of growth, renewal, and the simple pleasure of being in nature. And in that way he is in conversation with many other artists.
