Ion Alin Gheorghiu made this painting called 'Composition', using oil on canvas, and I’m really drawn to the way he’s put it together. The process feels very intuitive, with these flat shapes kind of bumping up against each other. Gheorghiu's use of color is so interesting. The green is really dominant, but then you’ve got these pops of blues, browns, and whites that create a strange sense of depth. Look at the way the paint is applied—it's not super thick, but you can definitely see the brushstrokes. It’s like he’s building up the image bit by bit, letting each layer breathe. There’s this one blue shape, almost like a draped cloth, with these little lines that give it a sense of movement. It’s like a little dance right there on the canvas! It reminds me a bit of Milton Avery, with its simplified forms and focus on color relationships. But Gheorghiu’s got his own thing going on, that’s for sure!
