Editor: This is Herman Armour Webster's "The Clockmaker's, Frankfort," date unknown. It looks like an etching, and the buildings are wonderfully rendered, but it feels a bit… lonely. What do you see in it? Curator: Lonely, perhaps, but I see the ghost of time itself! Think of the clockmaker, meticulously crafting moments, while Webster captures a single one, fleeting yet eternal. Do you notice how the light catches the edges? Editor: Yes, it almost makes the scene sparkle. Curator: It does, doesn't it? As if the very air is alive with possibility. Thanks for pointing out that spark, it's easy to miss in the shadows. Editor: I never thought of it that way, I'll definitely look at etchings differently now.
