Virginia Kennady made this drawing of a "Bed Double", we don't know when, with what looks like watercolor on paper. It’s all soft light and shadow. I imagine Kennady bent over this drawing, trying to get the details just right. All that wood grain! It makes me think about the labor involved in making a bed like this. Someone had to cut down the trees, mill the wood, and then carefully carve all those curves. And the bed itself? It's inviting, isn't it? You just want to reach out and touch the smooth wood. It makes me think about all the stories that could be told about this bed. Who slept in it? What dreams did they have? What secrets were shared? It reminds me that making something that looks straightforward still involves a lot of decision making!
