Editor: This is an Asper of Manuel I of Trebizond. Looking at this small coin, I’m struck by how much history is held in such a tiny, worn object. What do you see when you look at it? Curator: I imagine the hands that clutched it, the transactions it fueled. It’s more than metal; it's a tangible link to a kingdom, a whisper of trade routes and royal power from long ago. Think about the weight of that eagle symbol… Editor: That’s incredible. It’s like holding a story, isn’t it? I never thought a coin could feel so…personal. Curator: Exactly! And doesn't it make you wonder what stories it could tell, if it could speak? Editor: Absolutely! I’ll definitely look at coins differently from now on. Thanks!
