Małgorzata Serwatka created 'Dauka 4', size 46 x 33 cm, with what looks like a mix of ink, watercolour and maybe some crayon. There’s something raw about it. The colours are muted, blues and greys, but then pops of a fleshy pink. It reminds me that art isn't just about making something pretty, but about digging into the weird, messy parts of being alive. See how the lines are not always clean, and the colours bleed into each other? Look down in the bottom left corner. It's like she's letting the materials do their thing, embracing the accidents. It is in this acceptance of the unpredictable where the magic happens. It feels a bit like some of Francis Bacon's biomorphic forms, where recognizable shapes dissolve into something more visceral. For me it’s a reminder to stay curious, keep experimenting, and trust the process, even when it gets a little ugly.
