This untitled work from EtchingRoom1, made in 2016, offers a glimpse into the lives within its walls through a series of intricate windows. It’s all about the process, the way each tiny line builds up to create these miniature worlds. The texture is flat, almost like a page from a graphic novel, but there’s a richness in the details, like the tiny objects inside each window. Look at the window on the bottom right - a person sits at a desk, lost in their thoughts or work, framed by the everyday objects that surround them. This one feels special. It reminds me a bit of Edward Hopper, especially his focus on urban life and the isolation of individuals within it. But while Hopper's work is often about loneliness, this piece feels more like an invitation to imagine the stories of these unseen people. It’s a testament to how much can be conveyed with so little, turning simple lines into a world of possibilities.
