Victor Pasmore made *The Passion Flower* using watercolor and ink. Isn't it interesting how the looseness of watercolor can give this piece its energy? It’s like he’s letting the water do some of the work, embracing a bit of chance. Check out that big blue smudge near the top. You can almost see the brushstrokes, the way the pigment settles unevenly. It makes me think about the act of painting itself, the dance between control and letting go. The black ink lines and shapes anchor the composition, giving it a sense of structure, while that vibrant green circle feels like a burst of unexpected joy. Pasmore was a restless experimenter, always pushing the boundaries of what art could be. He reminds me a bit of Joan Miró, someone who wasn't afraid to let his imagination run wild. And just like with Miró, it's that sense of play, of not taking things too seriously, that makes his work so darn appealing.
