This "Composition with Blue" was painted by Piet Mondrian, but the date is unknown. Look closely at the way Mondrian carefully positioned the blocks of primary color and black lines. Imagine him stepping back, squinting, then adding another line or shape, adjusting the balance. You know, Mondrian was part of this group called "De Stijl," pushing for pure abstraction. But I wonder what he was really after? Was it some kind of Utopian dream, a search for harmony, or just a really cool way to make a painting? I can almost see him now in his studio, maybe listening to some music, totally absorbed in the process. He’s building an image, carefully adjusting the composition, making something that feels so simple, yet so considered. And now we’re here looking at it, still wondering. That’s the thing about painting, it’s not about answers, it’s about the ongoing conversation.
