This is a newspaper from November 1934, titled *Anti-Fascistische Eenheid*, or Anti-Fascist Unity, made by the Friends of Anti-Fascists in Germany. Newspapers like this one emerged from the intense political and social strife of the interwar period. As fascism rose in Europe, so did resistance movements. Here, we see a clear call to action—a stark warning of a "catastrophe" and an appeal to unite "all forces" against the fascist threat. The image of a worker brandishing a rifle alongside a red flag embodies proletarian solidarity and resistance. This symbol is a rejection of the traditional representations of power and authority that were being propagated by fascist regimes. Instead, it develops an alternative narrative, one rooted in the collective strength of the working class. As we consider this piece, it’s important to remember the individuals who risked their lives to produce and distribute such materials. This newspaper is a poignant reminder of the courage and resilience of those who dared to resist in the face of oppression.
