Composition 

Luciano Bartolini created this abstract composition employing ink and collage. Immediately, the stark contrast between black and neutral tones grabs your attention, punctuated by a sky-blue and gold circle. These shapes are arranged within the larger circle of the composition. Bartolini balances chaos and order. Notice how the horizontal lines of raw, gestural ink strokes bisect the circle and create structure, whilst the amorphous black ink blots counterpoint the geometric shapes of the gold and blue circles. The collage technique introduces a textural element that contrasts with the flatness of the painted elements. In semiotic terms, the circle itself might represent wholeness or the infinite. The stark contrasts and textured materiality challenge fixed meanings, inviting viewers to explore a visual language that operates beyond conventional representation.
