Curatorial notes

Alfred Freddy Krupa made Our Bobby with ink, capturing a furry friend in bold strokes. Look at how the brush dances across the paper, each mark building up to this shaggy form! It's pure action painting, where the process is as important as the image itself. The ink is laid down with such confidence. It’s so direct, like each stroke is a thought made visible. See that dark, concentrated mass where the head rests on the shoulders? It's a dense thicket of lines, almost abstract, but then they resolve into the familiar shape of a dog, maybe a Newfoundland or a big Labradoodle. The texture is everything here. You can almost feel the dog's fur, thick and soft, through the artist's energetic marks. This reminds me of Franz Kline, but with a wet nose and wagging tail. Krupa's piece isn't just a portrait; it's an expression of affection, a celebration of the joy that animals bring into our lives. And isn't that what art is all about?
