This screams Art Deco, doesn't it? Think jazz age glamour, the Ballets Russes, and a generous dash of Eastern influence – that touch of the exotic that was so in vogue. Erte was a master of illusion, and he knew exactly how to create these mesmerizing forms. I bet it'd look amazing on the stage under bright lights.
