Giuseppe Nicola Nasini created this intriguing drawing, "Judith and Holofernes and Other Studies," using pen and brown ink, sometime between the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The sheet presents a dynamic interplay of forms, colors, and sizes that draw our attention. In the upper-left, the dark strokes of Judith's triumph contrast sharply with the lighter, almost ethereal rendering of other scenes, evoking both drama and delicacy. The most prominent element is the ornate frame dominating the composition's center.
